Three Milpitas Schools Named "Distinguished"

Anthony Spangler Elementary, Joseph Weller Elementary and William Burnett Elementary all were named to this year's list of California Distinguished Schools, released today, Thursday.

To qualify, schools had to excell at state Academic Performence Index standardized testing and show progress on closing the achievement gap between students.

The three schools, all part of Milpitas Unified School District, join dozens around the state in receiving the recognition. See the list and read more about it at the California Department of Education's webpage.
