Transit Project Support Level Sought from Milpitas Candidates
All 24 candidates vying to represent Milpitas residents in various government bodies were queried.
LoopWorks is pursuing a promising solution to our Climate Crisis that also mitigates traffic congestion – Personal Rapid Transit (PRT). Because the proposed $60M public transit infrastructure will benefit Milpitas residents in many ways, a questionnaire was sent to
candidates to gauge their support level. Links were provided to a brief survey and a 4-minutevideo about the project and LoopWorks. Responses are expect by Sept. 10, and will be shared with the public.
All 24 candidates vying to represent Milpitas residents in various government bodies were sent the Candidate Questionnaire. Candidates included those for Milpitas Mayor (Carmen Montano, Karina Dominguez, Anthony Phan, Ola Hassan, Voltaire Montemayor, Franco Perez), Milpitas Council (2 openings: Hon Lien, Dipak Awasthi, Garry Barbadillo, Juliette Gomez, Demetress Morris, Isaac Stringer, Michael Tsai), MUSD Board of Education (3 openings: Chris Norwood, Kelly Yip-Chuan, Rob Jung, Anu Nakka, Suraj "Sun" Viswanathan), Assembly (Alex Lee, Bob
Brunton), Senate (Aisha Wahab, Lily Mei), and Congress (Ro Khanna, Ritesh Tandon).

IPCC scientists have issued a Code Red, and the UN Secretary General António Guterres summed
up our situation starkly: “We have a choice. Collective action or collective suicide. It is in our hands.” LoopWorks is offering a bold, out-of-the-box solution to dramatically reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector. It requires the City of Milpitas agree to the Memorandum of Understanding in order to build this Metro Area project at no financial cost to
the City. With our upcoming election, both candidates and voters have an opportunity to choose to support PRT.
