Rep. Michael Honda was appointed to the new 17th congressional district seat last fall, representing areas of Santa Clara County including Milpitas.
But how much did his House seat cost him?
Campaigns cost money—most of the time lots of it. In terms of dollars and cents, Honda raised $900,844 during the 2012 election cycle, according to MapLight, a non-profit that tracks money in politics.
