Fire At Assisted Living Home In Mission Viejo: Authorities
A caretaker at the home was awoken by an alarm and evacuated all six residents early Sunday morning, authorities said.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A caretaker at an assisted living home in Mission Viejo rescued six people early Sunday morning during a garage fire, according to officials.
The caretaker was awoken by a smoke alarm and smelled smoke at the home in the 26000 block of Carmenita Lane, officials said. He safely evacuated all the residents, although one person suffered a laceration to the head, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Firefighters arrived on the scene after receiving a call about the blaze around 4:30 a.m., found flames in a garage and extinguished them, officials said, adding the cause of the incident is under investigation.
