MISSION VIEJO, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Carlos not only created StoptheMonster.org, but also created and led rallies to bring this issue to our community. He challenged the candidates for the Mission Viejo City council with thought-provoking questions to bring greater transparency regarding critical issues to Mission Viejo citizens. His ongoing work to address problems in our community makes Carlos deserving of hero recognition. He's a nice guy too!
