Donate Blood, Receive Movie Rewards: Drives In Mission Viejo

MISSION VIEJO, CA — While the summer season sends plenty of people packing for long vacations and leisurely activities, the American Red Cross's need for blood remains urgent.

This July, the Red Cross is attempting to combat the usual drop in blood donations by offering plenty of incentives to Mission Viejo residents who donate.

"In addition to summer fun and holidays, severe summer weather can have a sudden impact on the ability to collect blood and platelets," Spokesperson Christine Welch said in a statement. "Eligible individuals are encouraged to make donating blood a priority, especially those with type O blood and those giving platelets."

To incentivize potential donors, the American Red Cross is saying thanks with a Fandango Movie Reward by email.

Here's the run-down on blood drives in and around Mission Viejo:

• 7/13/2025: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Rancho Mission Viejo, 35 Ascenso Avenue, Rancho Mission Viejo.
• 7/14/2025: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Oak Knoll Village Clubhouse, 28192 O'Neill Dr., Ladera Ranch.
• 7/22/2025: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club, 25291 Vista Del Verde, Coto de Caza.
• 7/22/2025: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1600 Corporate Dr., Ladera Ranch.
