Help Researchers Fight Cancer by Joining Study Group
Mission Viejo will host appointments for a long-term cancer study led by the American Cancer Society.

Early next month, Mission Viejo will host sign-ups for a new cancer study led by the American Cancer Society.
ACS researchers want to better understand the science behind cancer. They want to know what genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors cause or prevent cancer.
So they are looking for adults 30-65 who meet the following criteria:
- Willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, which involves completing periodic follow-up surveys at home
- Never diagnosed with cancer (not including basal or squamous cell skin cancer)
- Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center, Jacaranda Room, 24932 Veterans Way in Mission Viejo 12/3 & 12/5, 4 - 8 p.m.
- Mission Viejo City Hall, Saddleback Room, 200 Civic Center in Mission Viejo 12/4, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The enrollment and 20-30 minute appointment process involves:
- setting up an appointment (go to cps3southoc.org),
- completing a comprehensive baseline survey prior to your appointment
- completing a short enrollment survey at the appointment
- having your waist circumference measured
- providing a small blood sample
