MISSION VIEJO, CA — A family of puppies found abandoned in Mission Viejo reunited a year after being adopted to different families.
The siblings, known as the "ice cream puppies," made headlines last year when they were tossed into the bushes in a vinyl pool near the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center in the middle of the night.
The party, which took place on Aug. 2, featured nine of the 10 pups and their new forever homes.

"It is such a pleasure to see all of these pups together again as 1-year-old dogs with their loving families, safe and happy," Mission Viejo Animal Services Director Brynn Lavison told Patch. "We're dedicated to caring for and finding happy endings for all pets that enter our doors, but this story is especially close to our hearts since the pups had such a dramatic start."
