Mission Viejo High Wins Academic WorldQuest

It's the school's second win in the last three years.

A team of student are heading to Washington, D.C. after winning the county WorldQuest challenge Saturday at Chapman University.

WorldQuest is a trivia challenge designed to test students' knowledge of world affairs.

Thomas Papa is scholarship outreach chair of the World Affairs Council of Orange County, the group that organizes the challenge. He sent in the following information about the contest:

Tonight we had our successful fourth annual Academic WorldQuest for Orange County. What an impressive group of students we had this year. Thirty-two students vying for an opportunity to represent Orange County at national WorldQuest in April.

We are fortunate to be sending Mission Viejo High School to represent Orange County. The categories were not easy this year, ranging from the Middle East, to Azerbaijan, to U.S. economic global competitiveness to current events.

We wish Mission Viejo the best, and we're looking forward to next year when we can engage more students. We look forward to hosting 20 teams in 2013, supporting these future leaders from Orange County.
