Mission Viejo Pitcher with 94-MPH Heater Scouted in Long Beach
Kieran Lovegrove, relief pitcher for Mission Viejo High School, will show his 94-MPH fastball to major league scouts this week.

He's 6'4", 175 lbs. and throws a mean fastball at 94 MPH. But Kieran Lovegrove spent last season as a relief pitcher at Mission Viejo High School.
In an interview with ESPN, he admits it was tough adjusting to a non-starting position.
"We had two seniors that were set in the rotation, so I had to go into a relief role," the teen from South Africa said. "I didn’t take it well and it took awhile to get used to not starting."

Last week Lovegrove got a chance to shine in front of Major League Baseball scouts during the Area Code Games held in Long Beach.
When he isn't intimidating batters with his fastball, Lovegrove helps out with a charity he co-founded called Going to Bat. The nonprofit collects baseball and softball equipment and sends it to sports programs in need across the country.
