Mission Viejo Urges Residents To Apply For City Commissions

The city is searching for candidates to apply for vacancies for two-year terms in three commissions.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — City officials are seeking locals to fill seats in several different planning commissions for Mission Viejo, authorities said on Friday.

Two-year terms on the city's Planning and Transportation Commission, Community Services Commission and Investment Advisory Commission are open.

Each commission has five members, except for the Community Services Commission, which has seven. New members will be appointed by the city council on Jan. 10, 2023.

Those interested in applying can file a brief application form with the City Clerk's Office by 5 pm on Friday, December 23. Applicants must be at least 18 and live within the city.

Applicants for the Investment Advisory Commission should also have the following qualifications: banker, vice-president level or above; investment banker, vice-president level or above; financial planner; corporate chief financial officer or treasurer; registered investment adviser; or other applicable qualifications, according to a news release from the city.
