Photos: Patrons Explore Hands-On Science with Kids
The women of the Assistance League of Saddleback Valley saw their donations in action as students powered lights and learned about minerals.
To help fifth-graders get to the bottom of how science works, the Assistance League of Saddleback Valley has been sponsoring field trips to Trabuco Elementary's popular field study program.
And last Friday, some of the league members saw their work in action as they followed students from Olivewood Elementary and Trabuco Elementary.
Each year the league helps pay the cost to transport kids to and from the field study program, which offers live farm animals, field hikes, hands-on science experiments and more.

The students enjoyed mining for minerals in the Trabuco Sluice and building their own electrical circuits to power lights. They also had fun identifying elements on the periodic table by playing a game of Periodic Bingo.
