Photos: Purim Party at Chabad Mission Viejo

Wednesday night was just another weeknight for many in Mission Viejo. But for the community at Chabad Jewish Center, Wednesday meant Purim.

The holiday, based on The Book of Esther, celebrates the protection of the Jewish people from the vizier Haman.

And if you notice a lot of food in the above photos, that's no surprise. It's the tradition of mishloach manot.

According to Rabbi Yehuda Shurpin, "Mishloach manot involves giving two food gifts to at least one person on the holiday of Purim."
