In the first week of April, the City of Mission Viejo spent over $4.5 million. Much of that was for services performed in March. Here's a rundown of some of the purchases:

  • Police name tags: $400 paid to AAA Awards and Monogramming
  • Road work, including CVP Widening: $2.4 million paid to All American Asphalt
  • Library books: $6,200 paid to Baker & Taylor Inc.
  • Beehive removal: $150 paid to Bee Busters Inc. Another $580 was paid to The Bee Man for two other removals.
  • Graffiti and algae removal: $7,490 paid to Bonanza Steam Cleaning Inc.
  • Line Dancing Instructions: $63 paid to Mel Branham
  • Planning Commission Stipend: $200 paid to Robert S. Bruchmann
  • Employee Medical Insurance: $43,250
  • Building Fees: almost $66,000 paid to Charles Abbott Associates Inc.
  • Road Maintenance: $21,700 paid to the County of Orange
  • Medical Insurance Premium for Former Mayor Bill Craycraft: $262
  • Ballroom Dance Instructions: $144 to Candis Davis
  • Connections Chamber Music Concert: $688 paid to Bridget Dolkas
  • Oso/Marguerite Intersection Work: $584,000 paid to Gass Construction
  • Bridge Instructions: $273 to Johns Bridge Club
  • Computer Loan: $890 to Wayne Mackey
  • Senior Trips to Santa Barbara and Little Italy: $5,400
  • Senior Trip to the Viejas Casino: $300
  • Three Library Volunteer Jackets: $145 paid to R&R Industries
