Firefighters Suffer Minor Burns, Dog Gets Rescued in Monrovia House Blaze

Two firefighters suffered minor burns while fighting a fire that scorched a Monrovia home early Sunday, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.

The blaze in the 400 block of Royal Oaks Drive, east of California Avenue, was reported at 3:16 a.m., according to the newspaper.

A couple living at the home escaped uninjured when firefighters got on the scene and a third resident, a granddaughter, was not at home. Crews rescued a small white dog.

Two firefighters received minor burns but were treated and released from a hospital, the newspaper reported.
