Man Killed in Duarte Shooting ID'd as Efrin Murillo
Murillo was sitting inside his car when the shooting happened. The gunman is still on the loose.
Authorities on Tuesday identified a man who was fatally shot while he sat inside his car in Duarte.
The shooting took place in the 800 block of Lewiston Street about 5:40 p.m. Monday, according to Deputy Sara Rodriguez.
Efrin Murillo, 28, of Duarte died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

According to the sheriff’s department, Murillo was sitting in the driver side of his vehicle when the gunman snuck up behind him and fired several rounds into the car, hitting him.
The gunman remained at large, according to Rodriguez. No suspect information was available.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. All tips can be submitted anonymously.
