Kathryn Melendez of Monrovia has been admitted to Carleton College's class of 2017, according to a news release.
Carleton College is a private college of around 2,000 students located 40 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Melendez, a graduate of La Salle High School in Pasadena, is the daughter of Luis Melendez and Amada Alfaro.
