Voting Breakdown: See How Each Precinct Voted in the City Council Election

The city has released detailed preliminary voting data for Monrovia's City Council election.

From the Monrovia city manager's weekly report:

While the official election results will not be certified until a special meeting on April 30, 2013, the preliminary results are in. Monrovia's newly elected officials will be sworn in on April 30, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.  Following are the semi-official results, with approximately 176 vote by mail and provisional ballots still to be processed.

Total Voter Turnout: 13.1% (2,731 voters)

For Mayor: Mary Ann Lutz, 2,326 votes
For City Council: Alex Blackburn, 1,691 votes
For City Council: Larry Spicer, 1,504 votes
For City Council: Robert Parry, 983 votes
For City Clerk: Alice Atkins, 2,316 votes
For City Treasurer: Steve Baker, 2,323 votes

Precinct 1 (Monrovia High School): 10.6% voter turnout (6.3% vote by mail)

The City of Monrovia conducts general municipal elections in April of odd-numbered years to elect members to serve on the City Council. There are five members of the Monrovia City Council, including the directly elected Mayor who serves a two-year term, and four Councilmembers serving a four-year term of office.  The City Clerk and City Treasurer are also elected to serve four-year terms.
