William M. Wysock Receives Presidential Volunteer Service Award
Monrovia Troop 66 Senior Patrol Leader, William Martin Wysock Receives the Presidential Volunteer Service Award on September 11th, 2023
September 11th marks a very important day, not only for the remembrance of our country being attacked 22 years ago; but now 9/11 can be remembered for something good that happened. Monrovia’s Mayor, Becky Shevlin, presented and awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 66, William Martin Wysock, “Buggy” to those who are close to him, William received from Mayor Shevlin for his distinction, a PVSA pin to wear upon his Scout uniform, a certificate of achievement signed by the President of the United States and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States along with a silver medal that she hung around his neck. William was presented this distinguished award at his fellow Scouts Eagle Court of Honor. I can’t tell you how important this honor is and William shared it with his fellow Scouts.
The Presidential Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious national honor that highlights William’s commitment to strengthening and serving his community and his nation. William earned this coveted award by dedicating over 75 hours of his time and passion to serving Veterans and the American Legion for the City of Monrovia. William Wysock, with Monrovia Troop 66 Scouts, joins President Biden’s Council on Service and Civic Participation to deliver The President’s Volunteer Service Award. This is a highly coveted national award that recognizes William’s outstanding volunteer service and civic participation. The President’s Volunteer Service Award is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens and scouts to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. Recipients earning this Award may be showcased on college applications to show their life of service. Congratulations “Buggy” we are all very proud of you!
