21-Acre Brush Fire Near Foothill Freeway Fully Contained
No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged.

LOS ANGELES, CA - Firefighters on Tuesday worked to fully extinguish a 21- acre brush fire in the northeastern San Fernando Valley, but the blaze was 100 percent contained.
The fire was reported around 11:25 p.m. Monday in the 10500 block of Woldrich Street near the Foothill (210) Freeway, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. Firefighters battled the flames through the night on the ground and with helicopter air drops.
The fire was 60 percent contained by about 4:30 a.m., and was 100 percent contained about four hours afterward, according to the LAFD. No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged.

"Containment means firefighting lines have been established around the entire perimeter of the fire," LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
In an effort to douse hot spots, some firefighters will remain on scene "throughout the day and likely into the evening," Stewart said.

"Residents will continue to see smoke in the area due to smoldering brush that will take time to fully extinguish," Stewart said.
As a precaution, the California Highway Patrol closed the Wheatland Avenue onramps to the Foothill Freeway. The roadways were reopened about 7 a.m., the CHP reported.
