A man drove his car off the Angeles Crest Highway Wednesday night and was killed after plummeting roughly 300 feet, a sheriff's official said. The incident is being investigated as an apparent suicide, according to Sgt. David Shoemaker of the Angeles Crest Sheriff's Station. A witness reported seeing the car drive over the edge at about 6 p.m., Shoemaker said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
