C-SPAN Bus to Visit Reagan Library, CLU

The C-SPAN bus experience includes information about in-depth public affairs coverage and touch-screen quizzes about government.

The C-SPAN bus, which travels the country with the mission of providing public access to the political process, will stop at two area institutions Wednesday.

The bus will visit the Reagan Presidential Library from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at California Lutheran University.

The mobile attraction features access to C-SPAN's public affairs event coverage, web offerings including archived video dating back to 1987 and interactive quizzes about the political processes and key American figures.

This year, the bus is featuring the network's new series “First Ladies: Influence and Image,” a comprehensive look at the lives and legacies of each of the first ladies from Martha Washington to Michelle Obama.

C-SPAN (Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network) is a private non-profit company, created in 1979 by the cable television industry as a public service.  C-SPAN receives no government funding; operations are funded by fees paid by cable and satellite affiliates who carry C-SPAN programming.

Visits to the bus are free and open to the public.

At the Reagan Library, the bus will be parked in the turnaround in front of the library, at 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

At Cal Lutheran, it will located between Zimmerman Music Studios and Overton Hall near the intersection of Regent Avenue and Memorial Parkway. The school itself is located at 60 Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
