CA Dad Stabbed To Death In Front Of Daughter
The incident happened while the family was dining at a Ventura steakhouse, police said.

VENTURA, CA -- A California father died this week while dining at a steakhouse with his family. Police said the incident happened Wednesday night at Aloha Steakhouse.
Police said Anthony Mele, 35, of Ventura, was stabbed in the neck while his daughter sat on his lap. He was transported to a nearby hospital but died, police said.
Police said the suspect, Jamal Jackson, 49, of Vagrant, was chased down by a group of people from the crime scene, and arrested by arriving officers.

According to a GoFundMe page created for Mele, he died the following day.
"Anthony was a wonderful father to his young daughter, loving husband, son and brother," the fundraising page said. "Our hearts are severely broken for his daughter and family."

The GoFundMe campaign asked the public to donate to the family to pay for funeral costs.
"All donations will go directly to his family towards the unexpected costs," the page said. "Any additional proceeds will go to Anthony’s wife and daughter to help them through this difficult time."
