City Of Moorpark: Apply Now To Serve On The Moorpark Library Board

The Moorpark City Council is now accepting applications for appointment to the Moorpark Library Board to fill one unscheduled vacancy to complete the unexpired portion of a term ending June 30, 2023.  The Library Board consists of five individuals who are appointed by the Mayor and City Council and serve three-year terms.

Applicants must reside within the city limits the City of Moorpark; be a registered voter in Moorpark; and, where possible, have a special knowledge of libraries, library programs, or related subjects.

The Library Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  Other meetings may be required.  Members of the Library Board shall receive compensation, as approved by resolution of the City Council, for their attendance at each regular meeting.

All applicants will be required to attend the regular City Council meeting on March 16, 2022, to make a brief presentation (not to exceed three minutes) on qualifications and interest in the appointment. Failure to make a presentation shall result in disqualification for appointment.  Use of a PowerPoint presentation will be permitted if the City Clerk has been provided with the file no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.

The appointees to these vacancies will be required to complete two hours of Ethics training and two hours of Harassment Prevention training within 30 days of appointment.  Failure to complete the training courses within the required time will result in removal from the Library Board. 

Applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2022.
