City Seeks Library Board Applicants

The deadline to apply is May 3.

The city of Moorpark has four open positions for its library board and is seeking applicants to fill them.

The City of Moorpark is seeking someone to fill a vacant seat on the library board.

The board may recommend rules, regulations and bylaws necessary for the administration, government and protection of the Moorpark Library to the city council. They may also recommend the purchase of books, journals, publications and other personal property.

Successful applicants must be residents of Moorpark, where they must be registered voters and should have a special knowledge of libraries, library programs or related subjects.

The library board meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month and its members are compensated for their attendance.

The term for two vacant positions ends June 30, 2014 and two end June 30, 2016.

Applications can be obtained at city hall, 799 Moorpark Ave. and on the city's website. Applications must be submitted to the city clerk no later than 5 p.m. May 3.
