Meet An “Amazing” Who Thrives On A Fun, Health-Promoting Sport

Tom Burkhart, at 75, not only participates vigorously in the sport he discovered as a coach at Baker Middle School (LA) in the mid-1980s, Pickleball, but even now works part-time for the Baton Rouge Recreation Department exclusively on – you guessed it – Pickleball. Talk about dedication to a cause. Tom is a fervent devotee of the sport for many reasons. It’s fun, it engenders lots of laughter, it’s great exercise, and people of all ages, from little tykes to seniors, can easily play and enjoy it.

Tom is an Ambassador for the USA Pickleball Association; he enjoys spreading the word about this fun sport that contributes so much to a healthy lifestyle.
