Moorpark Traffic Collision Kills One, Sends One To Hospital
Breaking: An elderly female driver hit a tree in the median for reasons unknown at this time.
MOORPARK, CA — Moorpark Police say a vehicle left the road and struck a tree in the center median Friday night, killing the 78-year-old female driver and sent her 80-year-old male passenger to the hospital. Police responded to a traffic collision just before 9 p.m. on Tierra Rejada Road just east of Walnut Creek Road.
Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. The two were transported by ambulance to Los Robles Regional Medical Center. The passenger has undergone surgery for his injuries.
Police say alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision at this time. Tierra Rejada Road was closed in both directions for about three and a half hours during the course of the investigation.
