• House Fire Incident Leads To Lethal Force In Moreno Valley (patch.com) — Deputies shot and killed a person who allegedly set fire to a home on Heather Glen Road in Moreno Valley early Sunday, after the individual reportedly pointed a firearm at them. The house was already engulfed in flames when deputies arrived, no other injuries were reported, and the involved deputies are now on paid administrative leave while the case is reviewed. 
• Dozens of Kids to Receive Christmas Gifts, Visit from Santa, The Grinch (mynewsla.com) — Students from the south end of Moreno Valley in the Val Verde Unified School District are invited to a Dec. 22 “Grinchmas Party” in Perris, where more than 100 kids will receive gifts and treats. The district police-led event, funded by donations from officers, community groups, and residents, aims to spread holiday cheer with Santa, the Grinch, and plenty of warm snacks.
