California Has The Worst Drivers, Study Says

The number of DUIs is just one reason California was named the state with the worst drivers by QuoteWizard.

CALIFORNIA -- California is reportedly home to the nation's worst drivers. Seattle-based company QuoteWizard this week named the Golden State's drivers the absolute worst for various reasons.

QuoteWizard, a company that allows people to compare insurance rates online, said California is "firmly the worst" after being named the second worst last year.

The company said, "An increase in citations and DUIs helped drive the state to the number one spot in terms of bad drivers. In fact, California also set the worst standard in the US for DUIs on our rankings. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, California."

In a separate study released earlier this year, QuoteWizard had five California cities in its list of top 10 cities with the worst drivers.

Rounding out the list of top states with the worst drivers were Minnesota, Utah, South Carolina and Washington. Rhode Island was named the state with the best drivers.
