'Devastated': 9-Year-Old Drowns At Mountain View Apartment Pool
A 9-year-old boy drowned at an apartment complex pool in Mountain View, police say.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A 9-year-old boy drowned Wednesday at an apartment complex pool in Mountain View, police said.
Police officers were called around 4 p.m. Wednesday to the 1800 block of Ednamary Way for a call that a boy was not breathing in a pool.
Dispatchers gave CPR instructions to the caller as officers rushed to the pool. Life-saving efforts were later taken over by responding police and fire crews.

The child was taken to a hospital where he died. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified him as Ayden Noe Rivera Gonzalez, of Mountain View, Bay Area News Group reported.
Detectives are investigating the boy's death and are looking into the circumstances around what police called a "tragic incident."

“I am devastated about this case,” Chief Chris Hsiung said in a statement. “We are all thinking about the family tonight.”
