Fire In Commercial Building Causes Estimated $500K In Damage
Investigators believe the fire originated outside the building and spread through the bottom of the east wall.
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A fire in an empty commercial building in Mountain View on Sunday caused an estimated half-million dollars in damage, the fire department said.
Just before 7 a.m., a call came in reporting a fire in a single-story office building in the 2600 block of West El Camino Real.
Crews arrived and found an active fire burning through the roof. Walls and more of the roof had to be cut open in order to completely extinguish the blaze, the fire department said. Thermal imaging that measured heat behind walls was also utilized.

No one was injured, but the estimated damage to the building is $500,000.
