"I am very excited to start this new role!" she told Mountain View Patch. Abe-Koga, 42, has <a href="http://www.ci.mtnview.ca.us/city_council/council_roster/councilmember_abe_koga.asp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">served as a councilmember</a> for the city of Mountain View since 2007 and served as mayor in 2009. She's been chair of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and member of the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County. This position requires Senate confirmation. Members receive $100 per diem.
