Governor Appoints Abe-Koga to Regional Board

The Mountain View city councilwoman has also chaired the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.

Governor Jerry Brown announced Tuesday the appointment of Councilwoman Margaret Abe-Koga to the San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board.

"I am very excited to start this new role!" she told Mountain View Patch.

Abe-Koga, 42, has served as a councilmember for the city of Mountain View since 2007 and served as mayor in 2009. She's been chair of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and member of the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County.

This position requires Senate confirmation. Members receive $100 per diem.
