Help Mountain View Celebrate Arbor Day at Pioneer Park
City residents are invited to an event scheduled for Saturday. Festivities include a tree planting and children's events. Also: free trees!
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- The City of Mountain View will commemorate Arbor Day on Saturday, March 9 with a celebration at Pioneer Park that includes several tree-related festivities as well as a giveaway of trees for planting on residents' property.
The event, which takes place from 11 am to 1 pm, includes:
- Tree planting
- Children’s arts & crafts and themed story time
- Information about trees, composting, and more.
- Tree walk through Pioneer Park
- A tree climbing demonstration by city staff
- Complimentary hot dog and drink, while supplies last.

The city is also making Arbor Day Trees available to Mountain View residents for planting on their property. Residents will have to agree to plant and maintain the tree on their property. The planting event is part of the city’s forestry restoration efforts and the celebration of the State of California’s Arbor Day. Residents wanting to participate can fill out an application online at www.mountainview.gov/arborday.

The City will deliver the tree of choice to eligible residents in late April or early May. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on March 9.
