Il Fornaio Opens Newest Restaurant Monday In Mountain View

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Il Fornaio will bring its authentic Italian eats to Mountain View on Monday, opening its 18th U.S. location inside The Village at San Antonio Center.

According to the restaurant chain, its newest location will be headed up by local chef Davide De Falco utilizing the menu curated by Il Fornaio's executive chef Roberto Gerbino. The Mountain View space was designed by San Francisco's Arcanum Architects in the style of a Tuscan farmhouse.

With more than 6,000 square feet of space, the restaurant will have room for more than 200 indoor diners, with space for another few dozen — and their dogs — on the patio. Large parties can also book a private table for 12. On weekdays, diners can grab happy hour deals between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

"Mountain View has exploded in growth in recent years and truly become a destination for foodies everywhere, which is why we wanted to bring the flavors of authentic Italian to the residents here," said Ted Laymon, Il Fornaio's president. "As we continue to expand our brand and menu, we are confident that our guests will delight in the same classic recipes they've come to know and love as they enjoy a comfortable dining atmosphere."

The menu will draw from Il Fornaio's blend of classic and modern cuisine, with fresh dough and pasta made daily to be the canvas for seasonal ingredients. Some menu favorites include the Polpettine meatball plate, baked in tomato sauce and topped with ricotta, and the Burrata con Prosciutto. Diners can expect plenty of meat, seafood, and thin-crust pizza options in the rotation, along with a full cocktail list and award-winning wines from Italy and California.
