Mountain View Celebrates the Giants' World Series Win (VIDEO)
After much angst, relief for fans of the orange and black in the Bay Area.
Sweep!
That followed chants of "Let’s go Panda," "Go Giants" and an eruption of cheers the evening that the San Francisco Giants won their second World Series in three years, beating the Detroit Tigers 4 to 3 to win the Major League Baseball World Series. (Click on the video to see the crowd go wild!)
"Honestly, I feel like a legitimate champion," said Derek Salas who watched the game with his girlfriend at St. Stephen’s Green in downtown Mountain View. "After all of these years of being a Giants fan it means so much to me. It’s all worth it. There is no denying who's the best now."

Throughout the game fans cheered for every batter Matt Cain struck out. And when centerfielder Angel Pagan made that catch in the ninth to give Detroit it’s second out, the crowd gasped in relief just as pitcher Jeremy Affeldt let out a sigh.
"It’s amazing. Even better than 2010 because I’m here with my dad," said Ramil Quintos. "We sat in this same spot in 2010."

Then the mood deflated a bit when in the pitcher Sergio Casilla hit batter Omar Infante, which got Detroit an automatic walk. But it ballooned again when shortstop Brandon Crawford got the pinch hitter out at second to end the ninth.
The anxiety grew as the World Series went into extra innings. People rubbed their shoulders and bounced up and down on their seats.
But that all came to a close as pitcher Sergio Romo struck out Tigers’ batter and Major League Baseball's Triple Crown record-holder Miguel Cabrera to bring home back to the Bay Area.
"We should get the broom out because we swept them," said Michelle Losenicky. "It’s appropriate because it’s Halloween. It’s fantastic!"
The ticker tape parade to celebrate the SF Giants win will be on Halloween at 11 a.m. and kicks off at the foot of Market Street and continues to Civic Center Plaza.
