SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA—Santa Clara County recently celebrated the opening of two affordable housing projects, providing dozens of homes for young adults who are currently unhoused or at risk of becoming homeless.

In Mountain View, the Heartwood Apartments now provides 48 affordable housing units, including 13 designated as permanent supportive housing for people 18 to 24. The other units are reserved for adults and families with children.

In San Jose, half of the 42 units at Sunrise Pavilion are reserved as permanent supportive housing for youth aging out of foster care. The other half will be used for transitional housing, providing a stable place to live for young adults on their way to living independently, officials said.
