Obituary: Elizabeth Anne Avellino (1960-2012)

The martial artist, craftswoman and business owner will rest at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.

Elizabeth Anne Avellino, born on Sept. 26, 1960 in Mountain View and a San Jose resident died peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2012. She was 52 years old.

A graduate of Mountain View High, Elizabeth participated as a cheerleader and in other sports. She loved martial arts and had recently received her 5th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Elizabeth enjoyed crafts from shower favors and needle point to canvas paintings. She mastered playing the "Happy Birthday" song on the accordion. She was devoted to her faith and supported in youth programs. In 2011, she fulfilled a life long dream and opened her first business, Nutrishop San Jose.

Married to the late William Avellino, she is survived by her mother, children Monica Celeste Avellino and William Anthony Avellino, sisters Maria Kerr, Cynthia Every, Cecilia I. Franzen, brother Victor M. Ayala, and her brothers-in-law Glen Kerr, Robert Every, Jeremy Franzen, Mellissa and John Bershens, Joy and Philbert Vierra, and the many nephews and nieces, who will miss her dearly.

Her visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 1 to 6 p.m. and the memorial service at 6 p.m. all at Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, 96 W. El Camino Real, Mountain View. A private interment will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, on Monday, Nov. 19.
