Peninsula Verizon Store Robber Escapes Authorities

BREAKING: A suspect who was reportedly one of three people involved in an armed robbery at a South Bay Verizon store remains at large.

SAN FRANCISCO PENINSULA -- Police on Thursday night ended a search for a suspect who was allegedly involved in an armed robbery at a Verizon store earlier in the evening.

The suspect was reportedly one of three people involved in an armed robbery at the Verizon store on East El Camino Real in Sunnyvale, police said.

Officers took two suspects into custody Thursday night, but were unable to locate the third suspect.

The search, which began around 9 pm, focused on the area of Costa Mesa Terrace and Corte Madera Avenue.

Police said officers located a handgun in the suspects' vehicle.

The police department declared the search over on Thursday at 10:43 p.m.

A description of the suspect who remains at large was not immediately available from police.
