Rolled Oats Donated for Food Banks and Pantries in the Peninsula

Customers who purchase the grain at the Milk Pail Market can be sure they'll be delivered to people who need it.

All it took was an idea and thousands of oats.

Steve Rasmussen, owner of the Milk Pail Market, proposed to customers a few weeks ago on the store's Facebook page that if they donated 50 pounds of rolled oats, he would make sure the oats got distributed to the people who need it.

"Did you know 50 lbs of oats = 504 individual servings?" he posted.

On Nov. 21, St. Anthony Padua Kitchen received 125 pounds and another 50 pounds were delivered to one of the facilities managed by InnVision.

As of that date, Milk Pail customers had purchased 21 bags at 50 pounds a bag and Rasmussen plans to continue the program until mid-December. A bag costs $25. For more details contact Steve at cow@milkpail.com.
