Ruptured Gas Line Closes Sunnyvale Intersection

A gas line rupture at the intersection of Wolfe Road and Maria Lane southeast of Highways 101 and 237 closed traffic but has since reopened.

SUNNYVALE, CA -- Lanes in all directions surrounding Wolfe Road and Maria Lane were reopened since a gas pipeline ruptured, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety announced at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday.

The area encompassed a section southeast of Highways 237 and 101.

Public Safety Capt. Jim Choi confirmed that Pacific Gas & Electric workers ruptured the gas line.

No one was hurt. No fire was visible. No damage to nearby buildings was reported.
