Santa Clara Valley Water District Offers Rebates

You may be eligible for rates if you install water-wise appliances or fixtures.

(Patch Archive)

The Santa Clara Valley Water District is ramping-up its efforts to help homeowners save water.

The district offers free water-wise house calls, rebates for installing certain water-saving devices and, for a limited time, if you request information about rebates you’ll be entered to win a high-efficiency clothes washer, toilet or irrigation system.

According to the district’s website, you can receive help through its free Water-Wise House Call Program and several water conservation-related rebates for homes and businesses. With the Water District's programs, you save water, money and energy. If you contact them before 5 p.m. on July 15, 2013, you'll be entered in the drawing.

The benefits of a Water-Wise House Call?

To suit your schedule, Water-Wise House Calls are available for Santa Clara County residents and apartment managers Monday through Saturday, during daylight hours.

To schedule an appointment, call 1 (800) 548-1882, or click here to submit an online Water-Wise House Call request.* In addition to possibly lowering your water bill, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are using a precious resource efficiently. Less water down the drain also means that you are willing to help protect the bay’s salt marsh habitat and its endangered species. During a Water-Wise House Call, a surveyor will:
  • Replace leaking toilet flapper valves if needed and requested.
  • Measure your showerhead flow rates and install free showerheads if needed and requested.
  • Measure faucet flow rates and provide faucet aerators for kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of your irrigation system.
  • Provide you with a personalized irrigation schedule.
  • Identify irrigation leaks, broken or mismatched sprinkler heads, high water pressure, and other common irrigation problems.
  • Develop a prioritized list of how you can start using water as efficiently as possible.
