Suspected Mountain View Prowler Had Baton, Tools: Police
Mountain View police officers say they arrested a prowler Thursday night who allegedly had a baton and burglary tools with him.

MOUNTAIN VIEW - Mountain View police Thursday night arrested a man on prowling and other charges after San Luis Avenue residents saw the suspect peering into cars, and called police.
According to police, around 9:15 p.m. officers were called to the 2000 block of San Luis Avenue where the alleged prowler, identified as 29-year-old transient Melecio Macawile, Jr., was seen by residents looking into cars.
Mountain View police say as officers began a search of the area, they detained the suspect, who appeared to be trying to leave the area.

Macawile, who was found with an illegal baton attached to a tactical vest he was wearing, was arrested.
Melecio Macawile, Jr. was arrested for prowling, possession of a baton, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to authorites.

He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
