Five Crashes, Fire Handled Since Morning Commute

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- The Silicon Valley experienced a few crashes and a fire delaying traffic for the Tuesday morning commute.

One was located on northbound Interstate 280 south of Page Mill Road in the Los Altos Hills, and the other was on northbound U.S. Highway 101 south of North Fair Oaks Avenue near Sunnyvale, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Farther south, the major thoroughfare's northbound side was also home to a crash south of Blossom Hill Road. Where the highway meets the already notoriously-slow Interstate 880, the CHP also responded to a crash on the southbound side.

Adding to the slow going, a fire broke out on the northbound side of State Route 85 where it meets State Route 87 - a busy interchange.

In addition, a crash was also seen south of Curtner Avenue in San Jose.
