Woman Accused Of Attempted Murder After Hitting Ex With Car: Police

Police in Mountain View said the woman intentionally crashed her vehicle into a former partner Tuesday night.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A woman is accused of attempted murder after she purposefully ran over a former partner Tuesday in Mountain View, according to police.

Investigators report that the East Palo Alto man and Dublin woman had previously been in a relationship.

Alexis McBride, 24, is accused of purposefully hitting the man's vehicle as they both drove Tuesday night, causing the man to crash.

Police say that when he got out of his car to inspect the damage, McBride allegedly accelerated toward him, hitting both him and his vehicle once again.

McBride drove away but returned a short time later while patrol officers were still investigating the crash. Officers detained her.

She was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, hit and run and corporal injury to a spouse or co-inhabitant. She was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

An update on the man's condition was not immediately available. Police say that he is a 24-year-old East Palo Alto resident.
