MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A woman died Monday after a tragic accident in the parking lot of a Mountain View Walmart, according to police.

Investigators said an employee heading into work was navigating through dense fog and darkness when she struck a woman in the middle of the parking lot and drove over her around 6 a.m.

Officers and medics responded to the scene on Showers Drive, and the woman was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Police said neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to play a role in the crash, and the driver cooperated with officers.
