The victim—a Mountain View resident—told officers that he saw Garvey and Boyd, who appeared drunk, harassing someone across the street. The victim crossed over and told the youths to "move it along." One of the suspected replied, "f*** y**," and began to hit the victim. The victim fought back. The suspect fell to the ground. Police officers arrived at this point.
The victim suffered a laceration to his upper left lip, Boyd had lumps and scratches on his face and Garvey had no scratches but his shirt appeared like it had been pulled, Thompson added.
