Injured Hiker Rescued On Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Preserve

MURRIETA, CA — A hiker who suffered an injury while trekking a trail on the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Preserve near La Cresta was rescued Friday by firefighters.
The "hiker down" call was received just before noon on the Vernal Pool Trail, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location to initiate a search.

The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, suffered minor injuries after falling on the trail, according to officials.
About 12:25 p.m., first responders located the hiker, who was retrieved and taken to an ambulance waiting in a parking lot near the trailhead in unincorporated Murrieta, according to reports from the scene.
