New Year's Babies Of 2025: Generation Beta Arrives In The IE

These bundles of joy were all born after midnight on New Year's Day, 2025 in Murrieta, Moreno Valley, and Loma Linda. Welcome to the world!

MURRIETA, CA — Generation Beta has arrived in the Inland Empire, as hospitals across Riverside and San Bernardino counties share the newest babies born in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2025.

The first baby born in the Inland Empire in 2025 arrived at the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital San Manuel Maternity Pavilion in San Bernardino County shortly after midnight, according to Loma Linda University Health spokesperson Linda Ha.

Carter King was born at 12:32 a.m. to parents Alise Bailey and Erik King, of Fontana, the hospital reported. He weighed 5 pounds, 3.8 ounces, and was 18.5 inches long, and according to the hospital spokesperson, his due date was not until the end of January.

“It’s special to have a New Year's Baby,” his father said. “He's already starting off good, so I'm happy and excited… I can't wait to see how he's going to turn out when he gets older and what he’s going to accomplish in life.”

Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital also celebrated a New Year's Day baby girl, born just six minutes later.

"Remi Lucia was born at 12:38 am to proud parents Ryan Page and Shannon Page. This precious bundle of joy is already stealing hearts and making 2025 unforgettable," hospital spokesperson Barbie Ray said.

Little Remi's grandmother, Kelly Page shared with Patch that the tot arrived at 8 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches long.

A few short hours later, in Murrieta, the Loma Linda University Medical Center–Murrieta shared their first special New Year's Day delivery just before 2:30 a.m.

"Baby Kehlani was born at 2:24 a.m. on Wednesday to mother Samantha Perez," Ha said. The Perez family is from Winchester, California.

The next baby New Year was born minutes later, also in Riverside County, at the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.

Emeryn Haze was born at 2:27 a.m. on Wednesday at 8 pounds, 5 ounces. She was initially due Christmas Day, according to NBC4 reports.

"This one had other plans where she made mom be in labor for a full day and didn’t come, and we had to start all over the next morning because the epidural was gone," Daoust said. "It was 24 hours, and we had to start all over again, but we did it. She’s here."

Generation Beta starts with babies born in 2025, a year that feels like a turning point, according to USA Today. "Many Gen Beta members will likely live into the 22nd century. Babies born in 2025 will be 76 years old when the year 2101 comes around."
