Menifee Holiday Celebrations Kick Off This Weekend
The festivities begin with a tree-lighting ceremony.
MENIFEE, CA — Menifee will begin its holiday celebrations this weekend with the Menifee Christmas tree lighting ceremony scheduled for Saturday.
The ceremony is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College, 28237 La Piedra Road.
The celebration will include a community parade, food and craft vendors, community performances and a snow zone. Admission to the snow zone will be free with a donation to the Menifee Community Cupboard booth or with an unwrapped gift for Santa's Workshop.

On Dec. 9, a breakfast with Santa will be held at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center at 29995 Evan Road. The event will feature three sessions, at 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Participants must register in advance, and the price per attendee is $12. Children under 2 will be admitted free. Registration for the event is available at cityofmenifee.us/specialevents. All guests will be able to take a photo with Santa and participate in different activities and crafts.

Menifee residents have until Dec. 4 to enter their festively decorated home for the city's annual Xtreme Light Fight. Categories are:
— Best theme;
— North Pole neighbor;
— Inflatable fun;
— Clark Griswold; and
— Community favorite
Contestants can register online at cityofmenifee.us/specialevents. Residents will be able to vote for their favorites through an interactive map on the city's website between Dec. 7 and Dec. 11.
Winners will be announced on social media and the city's special events website on Dec. 15.
