MURRIETA, CA -- A pothole that emerged on Alta Murrieta Drive between Murrieta Hot Springs and Rockcrest has turned into a sinkhole, and police are urging motorists and pedestrians to use caution in the area.
A portion of Alta Murrieta was temporarily closed off beginning on the afternoon of Feb. 20 while the city's public works department fixes the damage to the street. The Murrieta Town Shopping Center can be accessed by the entrance between Sizzler and One Sushi.
Motorists can turn onto Alta Murrieta from Murrieta Hot Springs and enter both shopping centers, east side and west side. Drivers can also use the exit in the shopping center behind Burlington Coat Factory and turn north on Alta Murrieta.
